Volunteer with us

City Hive is seeking volunteers with big hearts! Often, people think the only or even the most important way to help is financially and whilst money is necessary, we can’t do anything without actual people carrying out the work. If you like the idea of getting stuck in and having a more hands-on approach, then look no further. Below are some tasks we constantly need help with:

Cooking

You can help prepare delicious, healthy meals to be distributed to the homeless and hungry. We will provide all the ingredients you need and with prior approval, can reimburse any money you spend on special ingredients that we may not be able to provide.

Fundraising

We are always looking for more people to fundraise for us on a regular basis. Come along and give it a try! If you are confident, approachable, enjoy interacting and speaking with people then you may have exactly the right skill set we need. Who knows, you could discover that this is your hidden talent!

Admin

Naturally as we expand, our back-of-house tasks also increase. Because of this, we are continually in need of more bright and talented people to join our wonderful admin team. This is a varied role and on a typical day, tasks can differ from booking sites over the phone, to writing letters and emails. Initially, our admin staff begin on a voluntary basis, then once you have proved a level of competency, there is opportunity to turn it into a paid job

Driving

Drivers are essential to our process; delivering food parcels and hot meals, you will have to own your own vehicle and are willing to dedicate a few hours a week. We may also require you to pick up food from restaurants and individuals who have volunteered to cook, and at times food donations from local businesses.
